Bob and the team are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for not one, not two, but three awards throughout October.
The nominations round off what has been a fantastic 12 months for Bob’s Business, going from strength to strength across all areas of the business.
Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber Business Awards
The Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards are one of the region’s most prestigious business events held annually in October. The awards are organised by the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and they aim to reward excellence in the region, celebrate local successes and raise the profile of business in the region.
As fellow members of the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, we are delighted to have been shortlisted for ‘CSS Skills Development Award’.
The award recognises organisations that have demonstrated excellent approaches to skills development of its workforce, which in turn has had an impact on the overall operations of the business.
Bob’s Business has seen exceptional levels of business growth in the last 18 months, in particular staff numbers increasing from 7 to 26. With the cyber security industry growing rapidly, as a company we have invested heavily in our staff development, recruiting apprentices and university students to give them the opportunity to work in an innovative industry, saturated with opportunities for progression. Currently half of the Bob’s Business workforce is either an apprentice, a university student on a placement year or currently involved in further training.
The ceremony for the BR Chamber Business Awards 2018 takes place on Friday 19th October at Magna, Rotherham. More information about the awards can be found here.
Women In IT Excellence awards
Now in its second year, the Women in IT Excellence Awards aims to shine a spotlight where it’s most needed in tech: on the mould-breaking, ceiling-smashing female talent rising up the ranks and shaking up the industry.
Having set up Bob’s business back in 2007, Melanie Oldham, is shortlisted for Security Leader of the Year at the Women in IT excellence Awards.
Melanie founded the business with the aim of deciphering technical terms and translating them into a dialogue that an entire workforce would understand.
Since then, Melanie has become a reputable and well respected force within the industry, speaking at prestigious events on a regular basis, sitting on industry specific panel discussions, as well as chairing the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster which she also founded in 2015.
The awards ceremony takes place on Tuesday 27th November at Finsbury Square, London. For more information on the Women in IT Excellence Awards, you can visit the official awards website here.
