We are proud to announce the launch of our new module, ‘Cyber Essentials’. Our new course prepares you for the accreditation process by breaking down the five main technical controls that make up the Cyber Essentials framework.
‘Cyber Essentials’ was developed in collaboration with IASME and The Friendly Nerd with the main aim of ensuring that your organisation is fully compliant with the Cyber Essentials framework.
What is Cyber Essentials?
As of 2014, Cyber Essentials has become a mandatory requirement for organisations wishing to work with government agencies. By gaining this accreditation, your organisation sends a clear statement that actions and controls are in place to mitigate the dangers of cyber threats. Mechanisms which demonstrate to customers, investors and others that an organisation has taken precautions are proven by the Cyber Essentials accreditation.
Cyber attacks cost UK firms £34.1bn each year with £7.5bn of that amount from malware alone according to ISP provider, Beaming. In demonstrating your willingness to prevent adding to this total cost, you are ensuring that the information held in the possession of your organisation is valued and protected from cyber attacks.
What are the technical controls involved with Cyber Essentials?
Five technical controls make up the Cyber Essentials accreditation. To be awarded the accreditation, organisations must comply with all five. These technical controls are:
- Boundary firewalls and internet gateways
- Secure configurations
- Access Control
- Malware Protection
- Patch Management
Why should I take the Cyber Essentials module?
If you want to be in with a chance of working with government agencies, then Cyber Essentials is a mandatory requirement. Not all, organisations are prepared when applying for the certification which is why Bob’s Business has developed the module. We break down each technical control to inform you on how to make the necessary changes to be certain that you will pass the test.
Including our very own quiz show forming the backbone of the module, ‘Who Wants to Learn Cyber Essentials’, will present you with the question to adequately prepare you for gaining the Cyber Essentials.
Before starting the module, you will fill in a form which will be sent to IASME, one of the four Cyber Essentials accreditation bodies, recommending you to be put forward for the accreditation if your score is high enough.
Let us guide you through the Cyber Essentials certification via our simplified ‘get-help’ module. Check out the brand new Bob’s Business eStore to purchase the course from 25th November, and all previous the Bob’s Business modules individually for the first time.
